Ruth Ann Baldwin Memorial Fund
Ruth Ann was an 8th-grade science teacher at North Kirkwood Middle School for 30 years. She delighted in teaching science, was a fierce advocate for protecting our earth and loved to enjoy nature all around her, whether it was collecting acorns, taking walks in nature, pointing out the different trees or enjoying the beauty of the moon.
Ruth Ann loved her students, was enthusiastic in her passion for teaching science, and loved writing poems and haikus. She was a teacher, wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, friend, and affectionately known to the Kirkwood Cross Country community as “Coach Mom”
We are setting up this fund to honor her and keep her spirit of living life to the fullest and enjoying the world around her. This fund will be used to establish an endowed scholarship through the Kirkwood School District Foundation. This scholarship will be given annually in Ruth Ann's name to a Kirkwood High School senior pursuing a degree in a science field. Our goal is to raise $25,000 in order to fund this scholarship. With so many lives Ruth Ann impacted through teaching and coaching, we have no doubts that we can raise the full amount.
Ruth Ann touched thousands of lives through the love she so abundantly poured out to those around her. Let’s continue her passion for science, nature, and the earth by instilling in future generations this same passion through a science scholarship through KSDF. Please donate and help us reach our goal! Spread the word, share this with fellow classmates and those who knew her. She would be so proud of this scholarship! Let’s make it a reality for her and all that she was to so many in this world. #llra (Live Like Ruth Ann).
